We build AI workers for other companies. AskG is the one we built for ourselves.
If you've spent any time on our website, you've probably run into him. He's on our homepage, and he's the little chat button that follows you around on every other page. That's AskG. He's been part of gambitco.io for a while now, answering questions and pointing people toward the right thing. We just gave him a serious upgrade, so it feels like a good time to properly introduce the new version.
What AskG is
AskG is what we call an AI worker. He may look like a chatbot, but he does a lot more than one.
A normal chatbot is a tool you have to operate. You type a question, it looks for a match in a short list of answers someone loaded in ahead of time, and that's about as far as it goes.
An AI worker is closer to a member of staff. It's got a clear job, it does that job on its own, and you can judge it on whether the job gets done. Take AskG. His job is to be the most helpful person on our website. He'll help you work out, quickly and in plain language, whether we can solve the problem that brought you here. Oh yeah, we like to call him G for short.
What's new in this version
We reworked three things: how G feels, what G knows, and how useful G is.
The feel. The new AskG looks cleaner, replies faster, and sounds more like a person. He also opens the conversation based on whatever page you're reading, so the first thing he says is about the thing you probably came for, not a generic "how can I help you today?"
What it knows. We’re so excited about this part. Every night, AskG re-reads our entire website and updates what he knows. So when we publish a new project, or an article like this one, G knows about it the next morning, without anyone editing him by hand. Ask him about the most recent thing we've launched and he can tell you. That's rare for a website assistant, where usually the day the site changes is the day the answers start going out of date.
How you use it. A handful of smaller changes add up to something that's more helpful:
- G knows which page you're on and answers with that in mind. So if you’re reading about our work with a law firm, he already knows that's the topic.
- He stays anchored to wherever you are on the site. Move from one page to another and AskG keeps track, so his answers stay relevant to whatever you're looking at now.
- When you describe what you're trying to do, G points you to one or two examples we've already built for a similar problem, rather than listing off features. If you work in healthcare, chances are he'll bring up AskEllyn, the companion we built that now supports people going through breast cancer in more than 100 countries.
- When a conversation gets serious, when there's a budget and a deadline on the table, G connects you with the right person on our team and passes along what you talked about, so you're not starting from scratch when they reach out.
What this means for you
Add all of that up and it comes down to one thing: you get answers, not a search. You don't have to guess which of our pages is the right one, and you don't have to word your question like a search engine. You can simply ask the way you'd ask a person. Things like "do you do anything for logistics?", "how's this different from what we already have?", or "roughly what would this cost?" And you'll get a straight, specific answer, any time of day, without needing to book a call first.
