Chaddict and AskEvaMarie: AI Support for Addiction and Recovery
By Alex Bukowski
Client: Infiniti Group LLC
Industry: Addiction Treatment and Recovery
Product: AI Personalities for Addiction and Recovery Support
Overview
The Infiniti Group operates addiction treatment centers in Southern California. Their team wanted to support more people than their teams could reach one-to-one, especially people who are still deciding whether they want help. Many of those early conversations happen privately and late at night, and the tone matters a lot. If someone feels judged or pressured, they often leave.
Gambit partnered with Infiniti Group to build two AI personalities, Chaddict and AskEvaMarie. We shaped around an actual person’s voice and story so the conversations would feel more human and consistent. The tools provide grounded, respectful support and give people a free place to talk, while keeping the path to treatment simple when someone feels ready.
Challenge
Addiction support is sensitive. People can show up feeling ashamed, defensive, exhausted, or scared of being misunderstood. A generic chatbot can feel cold, and a hard push toward treatment can end the conversation fast.
The Infiniti Group needed to expand their reach without losing warmth or trust. They also needed an experience that respects timing. And for many people, the first step isn’t booking treatment. It’s simply talking, being heard, and getting clearer on what they want to do next.
Solution
To solve this, we built two AI personalities shaped around lived experience, with clear tone and boundaries.
Chaddict
Chaddict is based on Chad Carlsen, the CEO of Infiniti Group. who has worked in behavioral health since 2000 and co-founded Hope by the Sea, a drug and alcohol treatment program in Orange County. Because of that background, Chaddict delivers empathetic support and hard-earned wisdom to help people navigate addiction and take practical steps toward recovery. The personality stays calm and direct, and it keeps the conversation respectful and steady.

AskEvaMarie
AskEvaMarie reflects Natalie Eva Marie’s voice and story. Natalie is a former WWE wrestler (known as Eva Marie) and the CEO of NEM Recovery Centers. Similarly, AskEvaMarie offers straight talk and non-judgmental support for anyone facing addiction, guided by her personal recovery experience and her work in the recovery space.

How the Experience Works
Both tools start with conversation. They respond with empathy, ask thoughtful questions, and offer options that match what the user shares. Then, when the timing fits, the chat can offer next steps, including the option to share a phone number and connect with treatment and recovery support. The experience introduces that option gently and only when the user’s messages point in that direction.
Results
Chaddict and AskEvaMarie have supported thousands of users for Infiniti Group and created a consistent front door for people seeking help. For example, one user who initially did not want treatment stayed engaged for more than 350 messages. That level of sustained conversation rarely happens in traditional intake flows, and it shows how much tone and patience can influence whether someone sticks around long enough to consider help.
This partnership continues today, and the work has helped clarify how to build AI for high-empathy, high-stakes situations.

AI that works today, not someday. See what we’ve built for other teams.
